HAWKEYE MOMENT

Every year, members of Heart Workshop hold our Photo Camping event, where we hold a big white board in front of the Pentacrest. Everyone who passes by our table will write how they’re feeling. We take a photo for them while they hold a small board indicating who they are and their current mood. This is a way for us to promote psychological health and tell people about our group.

about the artist

Yan spent 15 years as a media show producer, accountant and administrator in China. After she came to the U.S. in 2009, she decided to pursue her life-long dream and became a graphic designer. Her interests are fashion, photography, and nail art. Her next goal is to produce a stop-motion animation short film.

BEHIND THE DESIGN

Created by a group of Chinese university students, this design references the terracotta army, which today makes up a large burial ground created to accompany the first emperor of China. Members of the army were strong and loyal, just like Herky is loyal to the University of Iowa.
