HAWKEYE MOMENT

My favorite Herky moments are with the UI Spirit Squad.  It doesn’t even matter if it’s a home football game, volleyball match, or Beat State rally.  Herky brightens up about anyone’s day – watching little kids run up and give him a high five when he’s Downtown or seeing the squad lead the crowd to the Iowa Fight Song at an athletic event.  It all still gives me goose bumps. -Nancy Bird

BEHIND THE DESIGN

My design focuses on the diversity of downtown. I center on the people and community life that I see on the Ped Mall. I’ve included working people, students, elderly, children playing, homeless, musicians, bicyclists and all the people that make up the Iowa City landscape. -Jo Myers-Walker
