The opportunities the Hawkeyes provide for community building is amazing. Whether watching a football game with strangers but shouting and cheering like you’ve know them forever, taking a herd of elementary school students to a women’s basketball game, or just seeing black and gold everywhere on a game day, this community is saturated with Hawkeye spirit.
about the artist
Tom House is a lifelong Iowan and a dyed-in-the-wool Hawkeye fan. Most of his art experience stems from an education in landscape architecture and he uses plants and building materials as the media in planned outdoor spaces. His preference for the garden also motivates him to create two-dimensional designs in paint for the exterior of buildings. Tom has also produced a number of business logos, including one currently used by a national labor union.
BEHIND THE DESIGN
Equipped with life buoys and flippers and sporting a painted designer swimsuit and bathing cap, Herky Hasselhawk fills the bill.
